1. 2-Day Intensive Course MORE INFO

Join us for our Intensive Introduction to Organic Vegetable Gardening!

This course will give you the skills you need to design, install and maintain your edible garden, the natural way, The Urban Harvest way!

Through theory and practice you will gain a foundation in every aspect of food gardening from building soil to harvesting seed.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Choosing the right site
  • Designing your garden
  • Soil Building: Compost, Soil Conditioners and Earthworm Farming
  • Preparing gardens beds
  • Planting your garden (Crop rotation & companion planting etc.)
  • Mulching
  • Fertilizing
  • Pest management

Course Fee: R1500pp  (Includes tuition, snacks & gourmet lunches)

Note: As places are limited, we require a 50% deposit to secure your place on the course

2. Community Garden - Intensive Courses MORE INFO

This two/three day intensive is a comprehensive course that empowers individuals to grow their own food in small spaces at home and in larger community gardens. The course covers everything from designing to planting and maintaining and sustaining gardens in challenging community contexts.

These course are an integral part of our community garden installations, but Ad hoc courses for you and your organization are also available upon request.

Our reduced Community Course fee is R1050/person/2 days (with a minimum of 10 participants in attendance)
